What does it mean to gaze upon God?

First things first - you need to know that GOD LOVES YOU!

Period! He is not looking to find fault with you. He gave us Jesus, His Son, to demonstrate this love!

"For this is how much God loved the world - he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, (insert your name here) but to be its (insert your name here) Savior and rescue it! So now there is no longer any condemnation for those who believe in him.

John 3:16-18a

He is waiting to hear from you.

He longs to have a meaningful relationship with you.

Arise, come, my darling (your name);
my beautiful one (your name), come with me."
My dove
(your name) in the clefts of the rock,
in the hiding places on the mountainside,
show me your face, let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.

Song of Solomon 2:13b-14

Build a 'personal altar'.

1. This simply means set a time and place where you sit quiet and undistracted, ready to meet with God. Make a habit of this - same time, same place (as much as possible). Jesus set the example for us.

Jesus left the upper room with His disciples and, as was His habit, went to the Mount of Olives, His place of secret prayer. (Luke 22:39)

2. Practice being STILL - shut out the busyness of life. Learn to quiet your heart and mind to listen to God.

3. Read God's love-letter to us - His Word, the Bible. Then meditate on areas that the Holy Spirit highlights for you. (We recommend a physical, paper Bible as opposed to a digital one).

4. Talk to Him. Come to Him humbly. Repentance is vital to opening the door of your heart to Him. Remember, He wants to hear your voice and see your face. In other words, He is not ashamed of you! Talk to Him about EVERYTHING.

5. Pour out your heart, all your feelings, struggles, fears. Your pain - the things you cannot share with anyone else. He will NOT reject or despise you for sharing your heart with Him but it will set you free as you bring those things into the Light.

6. Keep a record. Write down what you just shared with Him. Then be still and wait to hear what His thoughts to you are. Journal these things so you can refer to them often. They will bring great encouragement to you and possibly to others later on.

It is here that a RELATIONSHIP is beginning between you and God the Father, through His Son Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

7. Yield to Jesus. Yield to Him as you walk through your day(s). Practice surrendering to Him in every decision you are faced with. Yield to HIS WAY instead of your own.
